We assure you that immense effort will be implemented and make sure that this kind of inconvenience doesn't happen in mere future. Philip Sturtivant It is now January 2 I havfe had the same problems as all others posting in this thread I had to use Google to find out that AVG have a soution to the problem. It will take a small miracle for AVG to win me back. Happy New Year - now get your act together.
Alan Sandell I have a similar problem to Philip earlier this month. If I use Windows uninstall I get the message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". I am the sole user on the machine and have administrator privileges.
I do that but AVG is still there. At startup I get a message about a AVG process being unable to run. How do I get rid of AVG? Alan Sandell Ooops - a couple of typos in my message - therea re two occurrences of "is" that should be "it".
Avinash Avast Alan, I regret to hear the issue persist despite your efforts to resolve it. Alan Sandell Avinash Many thanks for that. Thank you again Alan. Glad to know that the issue has been fixed. We appreciate your efforts in trying to fix the issue.
Please feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance. Thank you! Iain Pritchard I am having the same problem as Alan. I want to do a fresh install of Internet Security as neither the virus definitions nor the avg program will update from the UI - it says a newer version is available but when I click Update I get Unknown error. It ran, re-started laptop, then continued running but then fails with an error i can't remember. I allowed it to send the report to AVG both times.
I will now try the AVG Clear tool. However, could you clear up one question I have about it. Thanks in advance for your help. I only have a big Answer button to click by the way, I hope thats OK.
Alok Kumar Avast Hello Iain, I understand the inconvenience caused, let's work together to fix this issue. If we are receiving any error message while running AVG Clear tool in Normal mode then only we request our customers to run it in Safe mode Safe mode with networking.
